Random Tales and Stuff

- Because my life is awesome, this morning when I went into Alexis' room, Perc was missing (again). I found him in the filters (again). He decided he would leap for joy (again). BUT! This time I was prepared. I slapped the lid to the tank down so fast the dang fish bounced off the lid with a loud thud and then ricocheted back into the water. He's probably feeling a bit woozy after the whole fiasco, but at least he didn't end up with a fur coat.

- Alexis has discovered the joy of those stupid little quarter machines in stores. I'm OK with it because for 50 cents, I can shop in peace while she plays with whatever random toy I choose for her (this isn't a democracy, she isn't getting candy, tattoos, or slime out of those machines until she's old enough to know that snorting slime will not end well). Today's choice was a little bitty Winnie the Pooh. It was a good choice because it led to many amusing Toddlerisms.

"Mommy, I eat Pooh!"

"Where's Pooh?"

"My Pooh is lello." ("lello" is Toddler for "yellow.")

"Pretty Pooh!"

Yes, I am a 13-year old boy for laughing at each and every one of those. And then encouraging her to say them again. And again.

- A couple of people requested photos of the new 'do. The problem is that there is nothing new about the 'do. It looks exactly the same as it has for the past eight years. You can just refer to the About page for a photo. Yup, I still look exactly like that. The Toddler, on the other hand, has grown approximately too many inches in the year since that photo was taken.

  1. Oh, I'd totally giggle maniacally at the "pooh" line.

    And that photo? Toooooo cute!

  2. Don't worry. I'm way more immature than you. I just know that I am. I'm totally ready for my son's 11-year old phase.

By the way - I noticed there were way more "eh we don't care if you twitter" responses on my blog than "you should totally do it" ones. I'm thinking you're in the minority.

  3. If you haven't gained even one wrinkle or gray hair since that last photo then ... I want your DNA.

I try to get a new do and I always end up with the same thing. guess my hair just must look the same, just a little shorter.

  5. What is up with the fish?! I'm thinking it has a death wish. Or decided that fur coats are all that.

I trump everyone in the juvenile boy department. I not only have a few, but participate in their "potty" discussions with far too much enjoyment.

  6. "pretty pooh" ah ha ha I would have been laughing too! In fact, I'm laughing now! I would have made her keep repeating it too! I am soooo that 13 year old boy! ha!

Our toddler found the dog's "pee pee" last night while we had friends over. He kept squatting down and pointing and looking at us telling us something! And you can bet we all laughed every single time!

I love how she poses for pictures for you! Too stinken cute!

  7. I'm completely ok with having the sense of humor of a 13 y/o boy sometimes (or maybe all the time) - it keeps me young!

  8. "Mommy, I eat Pooh" Snicker, snort, snicker--on SO MANY levels. More snort laughing.

I always maintain that my maturity level is that of a 14 y/o girl--but now that you said 13 y/o boy? Well, that's it! That is exactly what I am, and I like it. At this stage of my life, I doubt it's ever going to change very much, and no wonder I actively seek out other bloggers who are the same--even though I am old enough to be "Mom" to most everyone--HA! I have never had so much fun with so many people :).

Something to ponder for the weekend. Now you not only have the Toddler mocking you, I also think that fish is mocking you. I think the Toddler is secretly giving it mocking lessons...

  9. DH and I had been thinking we might get a tank going for the LO, BUT...after hearing some of your stories, I'm having second thoughts! (Unless, of course, the man plans to do it all by himself...sure-that might happen :)

  10. Okay, just have to tell you...
When you mentioned the "about" page, I trotted on over here to the actual page to look around since I think it's been awhile (I usually just read your posts through google reader).
I think I'm ever so slightly dyslexic and when I glanced at your Burgh Baby banner I could have sworn it said "Go Penis". Um yeah.

Thought you might appreciate my chuckle at that if you think the Pooh lines are so hilarious!

  12. I still totally giggle when my kids say pooh bear or anything pooh related. Way to handle the fish issue!

  13. What a gorgeous picture!!!

  14. I would so be laughing and snorting at the Pooh talk. I am so a 12 year old boy when it comes to that stuff.

That picture is now one of my favs.

Glad Perc isn't a cat fish again. Heh. That one would have gotten a laugh out of Gracie...maybe.

  15. Perc likes to live life on the extreme side.

My daughter has once again requested playing with Alexis. Just sayin'

You don't have to be a 13 year old boy to find "pooh" funny. There is nothing funnier than bathroom words for Reid - but she has never made the connection between Winnie-Pooh, as she calls him, and poop. Even just Mommy-Bummy is worthy of gales of laughter.

  17. I love, love, love that picture!
My haircut went MUCH worse than yours - I wrote about it, and no one is seeing a picture of my new do either.

  18. I like your fish . . . cracks me up.

    You said poo--heh heh.

    Wings won :)

  19. OK seriously, you KNOW that whoever named Winnie the Pooh has a sick sense of humor and wanted to torture parents and make them stifle back hilarious laughs forever! Mean I tell you, just MEAN! hahaha

  20. We have had many laughs at Pooh's name as well, although at the moment they all escape me. And how did I miss the Craptacular post?! I'm glad I went back to read it. I love the dress Alexis is wearing on that one.

  21. Fish are weird. When I was a kid, we would wake up to dead fish on the floor all the time. Some just like to jump. And you've had all kinds of success with that tank so far. :)

    Love the Pooh-isms.

  22. lello pooh is my favorite!

  23. I liked the I eat Pooh best. Muhahahahahahaha

  24. we went through a time where we had a lot of lello pooh in the house. And we have a lot of Pooh, too, since that's the theme for both my boys' nurseries (ok...I admit, I just reused the same stuff for Cooper that I had for Gavin...but I do love Winnie the Pooh).

  25. oh, and I just might print out that pic of Alexis...it's wonderful!

  26. I love the pooh talk as well. hehe.

Also love that pic of Alexis! That's a great one!

Way to go, out thinking the fish! I'm very proud of you.

  27. oh, and deep secret confession: I giggle every time I abbreviate your name to BBM...because of the last two letters...yeah, BM for bowel movement. Sorry! I'm laughing now and I can't help it! It's a disease, really. It's not that I think you're poop (because you're more like whipped cream or Thin Mints), but golly, it might be time for a new handle! :D

    (yes, I'm still laughing)
