I rarely feel the need to punish Mr. Husband when he does something mean. All I have to do is wait, and the universe will punish him for me. That time he called me a moron for putting a giant comforter in the washing machine and flooding the basement? It was only a matter of minutes before he slipped on the stairs and fell on his bum bum. If he makes a snide remark about the fact that I'm domestically challenged, give it ten minutes. He'll smack his head on the door of the kitchen cabinet he left open. When he gives me grief about spending too much money, he invariably drops a heavy object on his own foot.
I have no hand in any of the incidents. I just wait for Karma to catch up to him. It ALWAYS does.
I guess since Karma is so used to hanging out around our house, she has decided to pay a little visit to The Toddler. After she was so cruel to that little girl on Friday? She ended up with this face:
(It looks 417 times worse in person, btw.)
I would like to say that I'm all sorts of ticked off that it happened at daycare, but the fact of the matter is that she was walking outside, holding hands with Abby, and randomly fell flat on her little piehole. I'm going to have to go with it just being one of those things that happens when you're 2-years old and klutzier than an elephant in high heels walking a tight rope.
That, and Karma is a bitch.

Poor little thing! She even has the bottom lip pout going on. I hope the boo boo gets all better on the little wumman.
ReplyDeleteKarma is a bitch. And she starts so damned young.
ReplyDelete(Poor little baby!)
I hope she gets all healed up quickly. Wow- that Karma works fast, I thought that she was face until a teenager at least. Guess not! My kids are pretty darn klutzy themselves.
ReplyDeleteShe looks both adorable and rugged. That's quite a nifty trick!
ReplyDeleteKarma gets ya every time.
ReplyDeleteso are you ticked off because it didn't happen where you could see her take her tumble? I mean, we know you'll push Mr. Husband out'a the way of helping her out of her babydoll high chair in order to take a picture...just sayin'. ;)
ReplyDeletesure looks like it hurts...looks like there's a little bruising around it up towards her eye. Hopefully you administered mucho kisses so that Karma doesn't come back and smack you.
Oh, poor baby! Karma needs an age limit.
ReplyDeleteOh, Karma was cruel this time! Poor Alexis!
ReplyDeleteOuch!
ReplyDeleteRandomly fell?
ReplyDeleteI'd be awfully suspicious of this Abby chick, making sure she didn't get all "mean girls" on Alexis. Being retaliatory and all . . .
Hehe, seriously though, she does pull it off well, the rough and tumble look.
Awww Poor Alexis! I'm with the PP I think that Abby chick needs to be watched... it's a c-o-n-spiracy!
ReplyDeletePoor baby! She looks so sad. But only half as sad as you probably feel.
ReplyDeleteAnd can you send some of that karma this way? Mr. Lemony gave me a hard time over not hanging up his clean laundry I asked him to himself.
Oh that poor little sweetie! My son clonked his head good on the snack cart at day care once. It's hard not to be a little peeved when something happens at the old DC.
ReplyDeleteAh, Karma. You really have to love her (well, and hate her just a bit). My own little clumsy girl has met her a few times and it's never been pretty.
ReplyDeleteThat Karma better stop pushin' her around! Great picture.
ReplyDeletekarma for what? keeping you away from the game? if so, i'd say she got what she deserved.
ReplyDeletejeesh...that sounds so harsh.
that is a sad toddler face.
ReplyDeletegotta watch out for that karma thing.
ReplyDeletewait. she was holding hands with the kid she snubbed???????
Poor Alexis!! Are you absolutely sure that Abby didn't push her down? I hear she's kind of a bad ass.
ReplyDeletepoor little thing... bless her sweet face!
ReplyDeletePoor Alexis, first the other kids overwhelm her and then she hurts her face. Here's my interpretation of what has been happening, not that I was ever in a million years "that girl". The other kids are excited to see Alexis and she finds the attention difficult to manage and so she doesn't respond to them. Then one day, she is with Abby, her BFF and a bunch of other kids want to join them in their game and she falls while trying to get some space. Poor baby.
ReplyDeleteIt happens like that for Reid. Except she falls when dancing, or running or doing anything more complicated than breathing, if the moment is right.
Man send some of that Karma over here. Not for Boog, if falling on his face is karma then he's building up a good credit with that old girl. But for the husband that would be awesome. He does far, far too much picking on his lovely wife. Of course he also has a toe that has swollen up to the size of a sausage and requires pain pills right now so maybe Karma has visited. Although seems a little overkill because good god he's a baby thus punishing me. Ugh, I can't win.
ReplyDeleteGood to know she was holding hands with Abby though, maybe THAT girl has learned to be nice after all.
Aww, poor kid! Yesterday, my toddler fell out of her booster seat (because she was horsing around when she shouldn't have been) and landed on the side of her face. She was fine, but as we sat eating dinner, my husband looked at me and said, "One of these days, she's really going to get hurt, isn't she?"
ReplyDeleteYes, yes she is. I am not looking forward to it.
Hope it heals quick!
It merely looks like got a strawberry kiss from an angel.
ReplyDeleteOk, it actually looks like shit but I was trying to put a postive spin on it!
Hallie
I'm sorry for poor Alexis. I know what uncoordination is, and it's not pretty.
ReplyDeleteBut in her world I can totally see how she now would think that being friends with Abby was never a good idea in the first place. This may push her back into being That Girl.
Gotta love that Karma! Poor Alexis!
ReplyDeleteKarma IS a bitch. Even more so for putting an owie on that adorable little face!!
ReplyDeleteKarma is hitting babies now? Man. I better watch my back then cause I have got some serious payback coming my way.
ReplyDeleteWow she knows how to rock a graze though. Makes her look even prettier!
All she's missing is her bicker chick leather coat.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the heck my daughter has been doing, she sprained her ankle twice in a month. Ahhhh...she's a teenager, I can only imagine what she did.
ReplyDeleteAww, poor Alexis looks like I feel this week. I must have done something horrible in a PAST life, because I do not deserve all this crap! Either that, or karma has me confused with someone else.
ReplyDeleteClearly karma was off its game . . .
ReplyDeleteI don't have pleasant pregnancies. I throw up a lot. My husband made some snide little comment like, "Are you going to live in that bathroom?" Thus pissing me off, but I didn't say anything (I do have some restraint). Within 48 hours, he had a horrible, violent virus and was in bed for over 24 hours. Of course, I had to ask him, "Are you going to live in that bathroom?"
ReplyDeleteKarma. What goes around comes around.
Hope your little girl heals quickly.
Karma IS a bitch. And that scares me - because I am a bitch. Which means I'm screwed.
ReplyDeleteAlso - get some of that scar-away stuff for poor Miss Thang. Heh - I can only imagine the ear-piercing shrieks when she committed the injury.
Your kid and mine? Separated at birth. About three weeks ago, I got called by the daycare that Little Man was running in the gym and a little girl bumped into him, which somehow sent him flying across the gym and he landed on his forehead (oh those fantastic toddler reflexes...) They told me they'd feel better if I came down to look at him, because they called it the biggest goose egg they'd ever seen in their entire careers.
ReplyDeleteI came and Little Man looked like he was growing a second brain. Which would make sense, since his first one is so full already from all the smartness and stuff.
So now you're saying it's karma, eh?
He did eat the last cherry popsicle the night before, leaving me with the yucky orange. I'd just never thought about that until now.
OUCH! Poor kid. Life is rough when your a toddler.
ReplyDeleteDo you know how many times karma got the Bean? Several. Usually after a tantrum he runs into SOMETHING. I tell him God is punishing him for being mean to him momma.
I agree with PP, watch that Abby chick.
Awww...the poor little thing!! Hopefully she'll learn what a cruel mistress Karma can be and then become the world's nicest person :)
ReplyDeleteAnd random accidents of a klutz? They happen all the time at our house!
That was KARMA?? If that stuff is Karma, Evie did something BAAAAD in a past life because this week she is a walking bruise. Last night I heard a crash in the kitchen and found her flat on her back.
ReplyDeleteI think this is one of the saddest pictures you have EVER posted of The Toddler. Maybe its the ONLY sad picture I've ever seen actually. (the ones of her caught in the high chair don't count as sad, just mad). Poor baby. I don't care what happened before. Karma is NOT my favorite.
Poor little girl! Karma needs a spanking!
ReplyDeleteAwww...her poor little face!
ReplyDeleteI can see my old office in your new header.
Aww. She's totally got that "you should see the other guy" look going on there. What a toughie.
ReplyDeleteLove the new header, btw.
Yikes! Karma wailed on her butt! Err... face!
ReplyDeleteAw! Bless her heart! Damn karma...
ReplyDeleteHow can karma be so cruel?
ReplyDeleteExcept for all that hubby stuff...that was how karma should act.
BTW your site looks great.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Karma! Oh, and my karma has a jaimacan accent. Like the wise lady in Pirates. I know, I need to get out more.
ReplyDeletePoor girl! Karma can be so mean! And those toddlers are so clumsy! It's nice to know that she was holding Abby's hand though and not snubbing her entirely.
ReplyDeletePoor kid!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the new header btw!
Man, I thought Karma had an age limit!
ReplyDeleteI was just about to jam a giant comforter into our washer ... so, guess not such a good idea huh?
ReplyDeleteHope that little "piehole" mends soon.
If only Alexis made the correlation and learned from it. Poor widdle thing. Adorable picture, though. :)
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought you were going to say that girl she was mean to haulded off and slugged her! Dude. That must have hurt!
ReplyDeleteOuch. When your done with the karma can you send it my way I have a kid who needs to be taught a lesson or two...
ReplyDeleteOuch, make that a 'you're' done with it send it my way. I hate these typos.
ReplyDeleteDamn the karma. I immediately pouted when I saw that shot of her. POOR THING was my immediate response. I'm guessing she got a little extra pampering!
ReplyDeleteAwww! My bottom lip is right out there with hers.
ReplyDeleteOh, poor thang :( That looks like a nasty owie. I hope it heals up soon.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously. If karma's hereditary, my kid's screwed!
That is awful! Poor thing! Sophie did the exact same face plant when she was Alexis' age and got the same icky mark. Plus she was black and blue for like 4 days! Totally looked like a sucker punch.
ReplyDeleteIt goes away though. Giant teddy bears and lots of hugs and candy worked like a charm. Sophie liked it too;)
Yep, Karma is totally a bitch. That's what I think when my own toddler is throwing a temper tantrum complete with arm flailing and jumping up and down and then for no clear reason, trips and falls.
ReplyDeleteIs it wrong to say I told you so to a 2 year old?
I posted last week about my attempts at getting karma on my side. Maybe I need to try your approach, and do nothing and wait for it to come to me!
