Saturday, March 8

Think? On a Saturday Night? Uh, No.

- Undoing the warm fuzzies from last night was a piece of cake for one rotten Toddler. After walking through a store with her face up my butt for a solid ten minutes, she very loudly proclaimed, "Stinky bum!" Whatever, kiddo. I'd rather be pretty than fresh-scented. Next time try maintaining a safe distance.

- I'm sure you will hear about it on the news, but I will soon be honored by the Academy in the category of Best Actress from my breath-taking performance in, "You Got Dora Sheets, Little Toddler!" Even I believed that I was genuinely excited and thrilled about those tacky pink Dora sheets. And we all know that I plan to assassinate the bossy little Latina just as soon as I find someone that will sell me a shotgun. That was some impressive acting, if I do say so myself.

- Where are the mother truckin' Girl Scouts when you need them? I went on a hunting expedition today armed with mucho cashola and couldn't find a single lazy Girl Scout sitting at a table while her mom sold cookies. I need some darn cookies, people. It's going to get ugly if I don't get some lemon thingys tomorrow. (Why did they change the names anyway? I was fine with "Caramel Delights" and "Peanut Butter Patties." I can't remember that cutesy crap.)

- You with the Georgia license plate driving through Pittsburgh at 8:30 this evening: Slam on your breaks like that again, and I will tell my husband to intentionally ram into your butt. Snow + Ice = No slammy slam the breaky breaks. You very nearly caused a twenty car pile-up when you suddenly realized you weren't comfortable driving 50 mph through the snow.

- Alexis had a play date with the one and only Dylan today. Peeps, he's even cuter in person than he is in pictures. I kind of wanted to nibble on his ear, but his mom was keeping a close eye on me. Darn the luck.

- Earlier this week, I shed real tears when this happened to the very last Girl Scout cookie in our house:

Rest in peace, you beautiful little Dos-Si-Do.

  4. OK. I was in some desperate need of cookies and I am with you. Where are they when you need them!?! I think they need a system like those "Where you can find the cheapest gas" web sites. We need to put GPS on those little babies! I need my gosh darned (yes, I said gosh and darned) fix!!!

  5. If you get really desperate on those cookies I've got a girl scout living across the street from me. Or should I say "pusher".

  6. I didn't give my dog a CHANCE at a girl scout cookie this year!

  7. Did the Dora sheets keep her in the bed? (That is why you bought them, isn't it?) And, hey, I have some advice about the sleeping issue... ; )

Would you believe I have never nibbled on his ear? How neglectful. Hey, when you get a chance, can you email me those pictures?

  9. Congrats on the Dora Sheets Acting Award. I'm not sure I could have mustered that much enthusiasm. And a BTW, I have a gun you can borrow if you need. But no cookies. Ours are gone, too. Drat those Girl Scouts, hoarding them for themselves.

She gave YOUR GS cookies to a projectile?! That is wrong on many levels. And, I heart you enough to possibly send you some Thin Mints. I won't even let the boy wonder partake of them, so this should show you the level of celery I have.

  11. I'm right up there with disliking Dora - two of our girls are completely obsessed and we don't even watch TV! But I had a question for you; a couple weeks ago you mentioned your savings with e-trade. Have you liked it? Has the interest rates stayed the same? Does it have checking access or just online transfers to your own checking account? In a nutshell (before I fill up your comments page!) can you tell me a bit more about it? Their website doesn't say a whole bunch without having to start an application.

I caught Cooper doing the same thing with his Do-Si-Dos . . . for the love of God child! It is not an Oreo! He licked all of the peanut butter out and then handing me back the outside. Wrong. On so many levels.

  16. I had to travel for GS cookies this year as everyone in my 'hood' is too cool to be a GS. I hate this town! Anyway, last weekend I was told it was the last day of cooking selling. I didn't get my tagalongs this year. Next year, one lucky girl scout is going to win a lot of prizes when she knocks on my door--I'm ordering them ALL!!!!!!!
Thank God for Edys and there limited edition ice cream. I'm buying out jewel tonight!

  17. Oh, and I forgot, If you need mmmmmmmmmy help--you can check my cousin's backpack who is a gun dealer ~~~~ I won't miss Dora, but I do like little boots-he's so fun and clueless. Have you heard his bouncing ball song?

  18. well congratulations on your award! I am guessing there will be no thanking of Nick jr.??? hmmm....

Actually, the "caramel delight" name WAS from a name change. They were originally Samoas and a lot of people raised a lot of stink so they switched it back. BUT I can relate to the hunt. We found some today, and they were out of the stupid thin mints that I love and adore. Out. The lady made sure to point out that the cookies are sold from January to march 16th and I should have looked for them sooner.
    Thanks lady.

  19. lol. that was very funny. I am thinking that you wouldn't have to buy so many cookies if you didn't share them with the pictured duo.

  20. Here in Canada we only get 3 types of girl guide cookies. In the fall mints and in the spring chocolate and vanilla. :o(

  21. I think toddlers are designed to look so cute so that you put up with them until they're not toddlers anymore . . .

Also, I heard some weird thing on NPR that girl scout cookies are made by different manufacturers and therefore have different names in different regions, but they're otherwise identical. I thought that was weird - I was digging the idea of a girl scout child labor factory where they made all o fthem . . .

  22. What is it with those stupid cookie names? I can't keep the darn things straight either.

  23. nooooo! not the do-si-dos.....!!!!!!

  24. I'm out of the lemon thingys, but I've got one box of Samoas, and they're yours for the taking. Wait, nope they're gone.

    Your girl is cute.

And the stinky bum story made me laugh out loud. Have lived it.

  25. Poor little Do-Si-Do. A moment of silence ...

I ate an entire box of those minty chocolatey ones by myself in one day last week. That's when I remembered why I don't buy things from cute girls in green berets anymore.

  26. I dont love the do-si-do myslef but any GS cookie that ends up like that AND is the last GS cookie deserves to be mourned. I'm so very sorry...

My head is bowed for a moment of silence...

I was on a mission for the lemon things this weekend. I found plenty of Girl Scouts peddling their goods, but none that had the crack I wanted.

I SO hate the morons that slam on their brakes for no good reason. If I was driving a hunk of crap and didn't have my kid with me, I'd SO want to ram the offenders.

  28. I love that pic! Too cute! Although I am sorry it was the last of the cookies.

I also quite enjoyed the mental image of Alexis up your butt and then proclaiming you stinky. That's just classic.

  29. I LOVE that picture!
