Show Your Christmas Crazy

I think we have done a pretty decent job of establishing that I'm crazy, especially when it comes to all things Christmas. I am not alone, however. It turns out there is LOTS of crazy to be found. Prime example, Magneto Bold Too and her Bathroom Tree. The Most Awesome Other Person Who Loves to Decorate and I were chatting, and thought it was high-time that we spread our Christmas Crazy. So, on December 20th, we are co-hosting a Christmas Crazy bonanza. Take photos of your crazy, whether it be excess, a bathroom tree, a tree that perfectly reflects your anal-retentive tendencies, your kid dressed up in the craziest Christmas outfit that you totally admit you love, or even your neighbor's crazy inflatable collection. It totally doesn't have to be the crazy you put on display, just the Christmas Crazy in your life. On December 20th, post those photos. Magneto Bold Too and I will put up a Mr. Linky and you can add a link to your post highlighting your special brand of crazy. It'll be one giant Christmas Crazy party!

If you want, you can let people know you plan to participate using this dandy little bling. Email me at burghbaby (at) gmail.com if you need the code.

Christmas Crazy

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have about four more trees to decorate. Maybe five.

Does it have to be OURS? Cause I would love to give you the parents' neighbor and his 100000 LCD light bonanza.

  9. Awesome! I'll have to get a shot of the street that crosses ours. I'm jealous that all those neighbors work together like that. It puts our street to shame. Not OUR house, of course, but the street.

  10. Oh, you KNOW I want that code! I was going to post all my pictures tomorrow, but now I'm holding off until the 20th. YAY! This will be fun!

  14. It's not that I'm a bah humbug person, but it just might take me till next Christmas to get the decorations out this year. BUT I'LL TRY, promise. My heart is decorated all over for the season.

  15. it'll be fun to see, but no way do I have the energy to take down all that mess. That's what all my Christmas paraphernalia seems to turn into after Jan 1st. Deep down, secretly in my soul though, I want a pink or white tree with all those new pastel-y colored ornaments with the funky greens & pinks & blues, but I've never admitted it. before. I couldn't hack it as my only tree. I have to have my traditional one too, which means I'd have to have two trees, which means twice the work, which means it would never happen.
I'll sit back and enjoy y'alls!

  16. Sounds like fun...sadly though my atheist boyfriend refuses to do a Christmas tree until we have kids. And I'm Jewish and have no clue how to go about Christmas decorations. I'd rock the menorah for you but we live in a mostly Muslim neighborhood so all my parajewnelia is still in the box.

  17. My in-laws had a neighbor with more inflatables than yard. I am not kidding. They went on the rooftops with them even. Too bad they moved.

My husband is all about Cmas crazy. He spent 3 hours outside hanging up lights. So that aliens in outer space know where to find us. If I can remember to post pictures I will. I'm all sorts of stupid these days.

  19. I support you 100% and any other year I would be glad to join in the crazy. But I'm sad to report there will be no decorating this year :(. Trying to clear out the junk room for a nursery leaves no room for a tree and since my shower is the 4th...i need the tree/decoration room for baby things. But next year watch out!!!

  20. There are at least 21 flavors of crazy around these parts. I'll have fun taking pictures of neighbors yards, I just hope no one comes out with a shotgun!!

BB, have you ever ventured out to Bob's Garage on the Blawnox/Aspinwall border? Tiny little bar with garish Xmas decor -- we're talking there is not one spot on the wall or ceiling that doesn't scream Christmas. It's almost offensive in its tackiness. Worth a visit for food, beer and fueling the Christmas overload spirit. :)

  22. Ooh, my friend's MIL has 31 Christmas trees AND COUNTING. I need to secretly take my camera into their house before I move next weekend and take pics of all of them.

Our house is going to be super-sad this year, with me moving back (and living in the Ohio house until the new year), especially since my husband stored all of our Christmas stuff in my friend's garage!

  23. That's awesome! What a great idea!

  24. I'm not sure I can compete with your Christmas crazy, but I sure will try.

  25. Hey I have a Christmas tree in my bathroom. Send me the code please!

    ReplyDelete
  26. @Three--I have not been there, but I sure do plan on making a stop there now. If all else fails, I have a friend who lives near there I can send to take pics. Thanks!

  27. I don't think I have photographic proof of my christmas crazy ... but I'll take the code, I'm sure I could find something insane. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kewl. I think I have some neighbors who will qualify me for that...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I would participate, but my Christmas Crazy will surely have taken over by then and will most likely not return my brain until after New Year's.

  30. What a festive idea . . . and yet another opportunity to show how much I should just stick with my Festivus for the Restivus. My own meager approach to infusing my home with the Christmas spirit is sure to pale in comparison to those who'll be participating.

But then again, a tree in the bathroom could be an interesting prospect.

Oh, yeah. And, I'm petrified of ever stepping foot in the craft store ever, ever again. Ever . . .

  31. wow, I NEED to do this just to get out of the doldrums.
Hmmm, what kind of crazy can I do over here....

  32. My husband would go crazy if I went Christmas crazy. He didn't even want a tree this year (we had to leave all our Christmas stuff back in Oz for customs reasons). Bah Humbug. But I have gone and bought one anyway, plus some decorations, so we'll be putting one up tonight. And Santa can just leave a lump of coal in his stocking. Bwah ha ha ha...
