How We Spent Our Sunday (Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!)

  1. As a San Diegan and avid Charger fan, I must, in a very sportman-like way, congratulate you on a game well played...

Okay, who am I kidding, I knew we were going to lose. But we had you going that first quarter, huh?

BRRRR!!! Looks like the toddler had a great time, tho! I watched my Chargers lose from the comfort of my living room, thankyouverymuch.

  4. That is the BEST way to spend a Sunday. And Alexis actually has a smile on her face. She so gets it, eh?

  5. I think in the next couple of weeks you and I are going to be having some interesting side bets going, aren't we? :)

  6. Nice!
We got to a Pens game last year while we were visiting. We'll miss football season again though this year.
    sigh

  7. Great pics! I took like two. heh.

And we were just a few sections to your left! :)

  8. All that for dropping the kids off at the pool. Way cool! What's Dad going to do for an encore. :)

I am a bit jealous, but apparently my team just stole a Patriot, so next year is our year! Whatever.

Alexis looks like she had a great time. Great pics!

  9. I thought about you a few times during the game last night - congratulations!! Of course, I would rather it have been the Colts beating you last night than the Chargers losing to you, but oh well, there's always next year!!

We definitely hope you beat the Ravens!!!

  10. The last time my husband and I went to a game during the regular season it was the worst game they played...and they ended up winning the Super Bowl. We went to a game again this year...and it was maybe the worst game they played (vs. Indy). Here's hoping our track record holds true! Go Stillers!

  11. looks like fun ... but cold.

i watched the game from the comfort of my bedroom. vastly preferable, except for the part about alexis looking like she's loving it.

How do you keep getting to the Penguin and Steelers games?

I've never been to either. I've never been to the new stadiums (not even the Pirates).

I just want Alexis to know how lucky she is to have gone to all these games. I cannot believe I'm so jealous of her. I'm sure that was such a blast.

    GO STEELERS!!!

  13. I'm glad that you had a great time and didn't freeze fast to the bleachers. But in all honesty, I'd much rather watch from the comfort of my couch.

  14. I am totally in agreement with VerWaynia...totally should have been the Colts beating your Steelers but since they destroyed the Chargers for us I guess it is ok. Good luck against the Ravens!

Awesome pics, girl. We were so stoked last night. I love Alexis' hat! Is it a Hudson? Whatever it is, she and BigBrother should get together and take pictures in funky hats.

  16. Thought about you while watching - it looked really, really cold...but what an awesome game (mostly because we won and the Steelers played great not because it was suspenseful).

We Tivo'd and went shopping and to lunch. Came home and decided to get the kids to bed and then watch it in peace. We went to great lengths to avoid hearing results. Just as we sat down to watch, my mom texted us both to say congrats on the win. WTF? I didn't know my mom knew how to text let alone that she watched football. Sigh...

And when we went to games, I was so spoiled. We had friends with season tickets - amazing seats on the 40 yard line about 8 rows off the field. I had no idea what NFL tickets cost until the Steelers played here in Nashville and I saw it would cost us about $800 for both of us to go to the game. I should have given them some kick ass Christmas gifts as thank yous all of those years!

  17. @Michelle--HOLY CRAP! We had the cheap tickets and didn't pay ANYWHERE NEAR that much. Not. even. close. Way less than half. TicketMaster face value bleacher seats aren't that bad.

  18. @Firemom--Heh. The hat is KMart clearance. $5, baby, and it came with matching mittens. Which Alexis won't wear, of course.

OMG I totally thought of you as my husband was watching that game and got Boog to say "go steelers!" (The Hubs grew up a steelers fan) I had no idea you were one of the crazies in the stand freezing your butts off. Although I'm not at all shocked at that realization. :P

I hope you had 57 kinds of fun, because those were some seriously HUGE flakes coming down.

  21. I'm glad your team won. Mine certainly did not, though they had chances.

  22. That's how I spent Sunday too. Only from the comfort of my couch snuggled up in a blanket. Awesome game!

  23. I'm so jealous! We are huge Steelers fan! Wish we could have been there!

  24. JEALOUS!! What a great game. It's times like these when I miss the Burgh the most. *sigh*

  25. Oh. My. GAH!!!

    You are AT the game????

    Sigh. I'm mucho jealous-o.

I missed the first quarter since we were out but caught the rest. Loved it.

  30. As cool as it must have been to be there, I'm a wimpy girl - too cold for me - but glad you got to see them win! GO STEELERS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. And the Steelers were the only team with home-field advantage to win! :) Yeah, you!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Brrrrr! I'm a big wimp so it is way too cold for me! Looks like fun though!

    ReplyDelete
  33. JEALOUS! SO JEALOUS!

  34. Did I mention how COLD it looks there. Miserable.

What's that, you ask? Oh, me? Nothing, I'm just wearing my FLIP FLOPS and tank tops.
