Just Another Crazy Sunday

It was just a Sunday. A Sunday that was filled with fun stuff--a Pens game, snow, and a little Steelers game. It was just a Sunday.

We started the day watching the Pens finally break free of the vacuum of suck they've been they've been hovering in for a few months. Alexis was overjoyed to find her good bud Sidney Crosby back in the line up, and spent a great part of the game chanting, "Sid-ney, Sid-ney, Sid-ney." A Pens victory was sweet.

Then Alexis and I wandered outside for a few hours of romping in the snow. We took the dogs along, of course, and it took 1.45 minutes for Meg to remember that she doesn't do cold. Or snow. Or anything that isn't 72 and sunny. (Fortunately, she didn't wimp out before this.) Cody, on the other hand, prefers to defy all breed information (and common sense) and LOVES the snow. A lot. Don't tell him Havenese are from Cuba and don't like the fluffy stuff, because he loves it more than anything in this world, except maybe Alexis. He will play with Alexis for hours and hours and hours and hours, never once tiring of running up to her, "tagging" her, and then taking off as fast as he can.

After a couple of hours of giggles, grins, and glee, I finally drug Alexis back into the house so that we wouldn't miss a second of the Steelers game. As I was peeling off her fourteen thousand layers of cold weather gear, she asked, "What day is it?"

"It's Sunday," I told her.

"It's a great Sunday," she said with a grin.

I told her that the day wasn't over yet, and that we would see if it was truly great after the Steelers game.

I guess she already knew.

It was a great Sunday.

(In case you hadn't noticed, I decided to do Project365 this year. I'm using Flickr to house all the photos that don't make it here, so wander over and check it out!)

  4. @pghrugbyangel--Careful what you say, I might take you up on that. It seems that the toddlers of the world don't get cold NEARLY as fast as the grown-ups. I nearly died in those two hours.

  6. My dogs hate snow! Abbie loves snow. But I usually drag them with me outside!

  7. I rooted for your Penguins. I've decided that, as long as they're not playing the Bruins, I want them to win. See how magnanimous I am?

  13. Cody and Pickles would have a righteous riot together. She's the same way about the snow. Pickles gets a 43 year old kid romping with her in it. *winks*. I absolutely loved all the pictures of the "Great" Sunday. Is that kid a lucky charm or what...(Hugs)Indigo

  14. Out of the wondrous mouth of babes. She speaks the truth. Or spoke. Or something like that.

And you totally cheated on the Project 365. You post pics daily and have for, um, ever. Total cheat.

It's amazing the difference a year makes. Wasn't this the same kid who went postal with white last year? Looks like a puppy makes it all better.

  16. GAH! WHY WON'T IT SNOW HERE?!?!

  17. @Karen--Ah, but I don't take photos daily. Seriously, I used to go a week or two without touching the camera. It's been a challenge so far to be sure to take at least one every day, and I'm enjoying it.

  18. @AFF--I know! Exactly one year ago she would have preferred to be eaten alive by worms in the fishtank than to touch a single flake of snow. She finally figured it out.

My coworker has a Havenese and he's a snow lover too. I love Alexis's rosy red cheeks from the cold. Too sweet.

  23. I miss the snow (on occasion). Someday we hope to take Courtney somewhere so she can see the fluffy stuff. If it happens here, it never sticks and that's no fun!
