Pint-Sized Photo Shoot

For as long as I've had Mr. Canon, Alexis has had free reign to my old digital camera. She will go months without taking any photos, but then will take hundreds in a matter of days. I tend to forget to download her photos until I need that camera for something and find that it's full. When I do finally download her photos, I always find some most excellent stuff. For example, I found what was obviously a photo diary of many of Alexis' favorite things.

Alexis' play kitchen. She's had it for two years, and there have been very few days that she hasn't played with it.

This little photo shoot took place a few days after Alexis' birthday, and I guess she really liked her princess decorations. She took pictures of all three of the dangly things.

I'm not exaggerating when I say we scored The Greatest Birthday Present EVAH this year. I have a whole post about it coming soon, and Alexis made sure to take a photo of it because she really, really, really likes it.

Of course, Alexis really likes the cats. Powder:

And Coal:

She also apparently likes the TV, even when it's showing the really awful American Idol contestants.

She's a fan of her new penguin t-shirt, which came via the fabulous Anglophile Football Fanatic.

I can tell you that Alexis has been paying a lot of attention to me as I take photos, because she has almost as many extreme close-ups as I do. Although, I don't think I've ever taken a photo THIS close to Meg.

This is Alexis' magnet toy that hangs out on our fridge. It's another huge hit, even though she's had it for over a year.

And, of course, the proof that she was taking photos of her favorite things. Me!

She couldn't possibly have been taking a photo of the bowl of ice cream I had in my hands. No way, it's that she lurves me.

  1. YAY me, I'm first!

I love when I get a Howlereye view of the world. It's always interesting!

Also, my brother got his girls one of those "greatest gifts ever" and while the 4 year old is absolutely entranced by it, the 2 year old shrieks and cries and acts like someone is trying to kill her with an axe.

  2. @mumple--I probably shouldn't be laughing at the image of a 2-year old freaking out like someone is trying to kill her with an axe, but I am.

It's great to see from their perspective isn't it? She got some fabulous shots. I need to hand off my old camera to my 4 year old more often. Those were brilliant!

  10. First - wow, that is a bright red wall!
Second - almost bought that lamp - Target, right?
Third - What is the new toy? A projector?
Fourth - I can't even tell what part of Meg I'm looking at.
Fifth - you eat out of her bowls and she wanted the proof.

  11. Those are too funny! My 8 year old wanted a digital camera and we got her a cheapo one, and of course it took the worst pictures EVAH, so we had to take it back. I think I will give her our old digital and see what she takes pictures of. I would have loved to see what she would have photographed when she was younger as I am sure it would have been equally amusing!

  12. And you totally aren't ignoring her and reading blogs are you? ;)

  13. It's Meg face in the super close-up. Her mouth is at the bottom right, above that her giant nose wrinkle, then her squinty eye.

  14. I have to say, Alexis is a pretty smart cookie in that she can use the camera at all and a lot of her pics were better than I can do! :)

  15. That close up of Meg is both hilarious and freaky.

My Boy Child has one of those "best gifts ever". He got it 2 years ago. It is THE most entertaining gift I've had the pleasure of watching him play with! He loves it, still. The video I have of this is priceless.

  18. LM has always loved taking pictures. She is 9 now and most of her pictures now are pictures of herself. And dang if she still doesn't do better than me.

That is a freaky picture of Meg, I should show it to hubby, he wants your dog, maybe that would change his mind.

  20. Those are surprisingly good pictures for a 3 year old. Hmmm, I may have to give my old one to my 3 year old and see what masterpieces she can come up with.

Probably pics of her sister's hand as she's trying to take the camera away from her. Ahhh, sisterly love.

  21. I loved seeing these photos. I hope you post more in the future. She is taking after her Mama in the photography department!

Was that Meg's nose or her butt?
