Empty Threats

"Daddy is going to take me to school tomorrow," Alexis told me.

"Um, no he isn't," I retorted. Mr. Husband leaves over an hour before Alexis and I do. There isn't a reason in the world why she should be waking up at 5:30 and riding with him. That could only lead to her trying to wake up at 5:30 on the weekend. And, uh, NO.

"Yes, he is," Little Miss I'm Going to Argue With Everything You Say replied.

"No, he's really not. I'll take you to school tomorrow," I said in an annoyed tone.

"Well, I'll just put you in a cage and then Daddy can take me to school because I like Daddy," Alexis said.

I would worry about where the heck the kid got the idea that she could put me in a cage, but she later told me she ate eyeballs for lunch. I'm thinking maybe she can't be taken all that seriously these days.

  1. Was she watching old seasons of Lost? That could explain it. Beware though, because she might not have got to the part where Kate and Sawyer share a cage.

  2. Geez Mom (rolls eyes) didn't you know eyeballs are slang for grapes. Chuckling, at least that's what Skye always called them. She got some serious weird looks when she told people that. (Hugs)Indigo

  4. Hmmm. Putting you in a cage would give you some alone time. Doesn't sound too bad to me. ;)

  8. My mother in law was an alcoholic with seven kids.
Instead of putting them in the playpen, she would get in there to keep the kids away from her when it was time for a rum and coke.
    True story.
Can't believe most of them lived to laugh about it.

  10. Do you get alone time in that cage? Because if so, I want one too.

  11. Luke was roughly that ageish when he told Sam's boss that we train our dogs by running over them or shooting them. There' s a whole stage where they can't be taken seriously. Or taken into public.
