I fear that every one of you will stop reading this blog after finding out just how exciting of a New Years' Eve we are having. I had to leave work early since daycare closed early (it was a travesty, really). Then began The Great Target Tour of Christmas Clearance. Three Targets in three hours. $150 worth of clearance twinkles. All marked down 75%. If you do the math, you'll figure out that means I bought a WHOLE.LOTTA.LIGHTS! Way too exciting for you, I know. I'm sorry if you weren't able to have that kind of fun.
Forgive me, but I think I need to rub in our funness just a wee bit more. The Toddler is snoring away in her crib after surviving this crazy realistic dream where I changed her sleeping little self out of street clothes and into pajamas, but got her head stuck in her t-shirt when I didn't unbutton it enough, so she had to sit up and turn her little face to the ceiling so that the shirt could be freed. It was absolutely a dream. No reality there. Mr. Husband is also sleeping soundly in his bed, probably having a very similar dream (again, it's just a dream). And me? I'm going to bed right this second. I'm far too old and feeble to be awake at this late hour.
Happy 2008, y'all! I hope you are able to spend it being just as exciting as we all are.
BTW, last year we were even more exciting. Photographic evidence:
Can you believe it? We gave the baby a BATH! I know! Exciting, right?

Yeah! So jealous!
ReplyDeleteWhat did I do, uh I finally got Amy to sleep at around 10.30pm (it was 48C here yesterday, it was much too hot for her to go to bed early) and then I watched the music on TV. Fun times.
Small housekeeping thingy, my URL on your sidebar is wrong. *sniff*
Aw, sounds perfect to me.
ReplyDeletehappy new year!
Happy New Year to you guys! Glad I am not the only one having an "exciting" celebration in the form of giving monster a bath! :-)
ReplyDeleteGuess what time I went to bed last night? 9:00!! I know, we're wild aren't we?! I AM jealous of your Target goodies, though!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I too was in bed way before the ball dropped. We are such party animals I tell ya. It was a normal night around here and after wrestling the kids to bed....I pretty much went to bed myself.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Kids really change you, don't they? I was never a night owl anyway, but when the kids came it was the best excuse for departing early.
ReplyDeleteAlthough last night a friend invited us over and we had a wonderful time with 7 adults and 11 kids in a small house until 1:00 am. And talk about miracles, there was NOT ONE fight or tiff among them.
Sounds like our night. Complete with a leg on the Target Tour :)
ReplyDeleteWe hit the mall, stopped at a Chinese buffet, then after putting Dylan to bed a little late (9:00), watched "Match Point", and enjoyed a rum and coke. It was just about perfect. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI'm just as exciting as you are. I wish we lived nearer. We could be exciting together.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYou had a way better New Year's Eve than I did. I wish I did a Target trip! My highlight (after a fussy morning with baby, working almost a full day at the office, and coming home to two crazy dogs) was making caramel popcorn. From scratch!
I did stay up until 11:00, but I regretted it when I was up at midnight and 4:00 and 5:50-7:15. Hmmm. Tonight, I will be asleep by 9:00, if all goes according to plan.
It maybe a tie....I had a really exciting New Years Eve too. I babysat my sisters 3 kids, my hubby slept and my toddler kept waking up. I think next year I take it a little quieter and be comatose for New Years Eve. I hope you have a happy and healthy new year my friend!
ReplyDeletewow! still haven't been able to get to do any real shopping at Target...guess I may have to wait until next year.
ReplyDeletewe did stay up late, eating junk food with some friends and playing a slightly inebriated game of Catch Phrase, though.
Happy New Year!
my god...i'm green with envy!
ReplyDeletehappy new year!
I'm so jealous...
ReplyDeleteFound you via Veronica. :)
ReplyDeleteSIGH. Less than a month before I get back to a state that actually HAS a Target. I SO miss Target's clearance stuff. So yes, I am insanely jealous.
