Representing the Best Two Years of My Life

Peeps, she's two. Can you believe it? Here's how Alexis spent her second birthday . . .

Lunch at Chuck E. Cheese. Coincidentally, it was the first time I had ever set foot in the rat/kid trap.

Then an afternoon at the Children's Museum.

Home in time for dinner and cake. I put zero effort into her cake this year for many reasons, and it was a good thing because Alexis put zero effort into eating her cake this year. She will be getting another chance to smash/eat cake next Saturday, so I think I'll be starving her all day to insure maximum photo opportunities.

"Regular" posts will resume tomorrow.

  5. Your first time to Chuck E. Cheese??? Wow! Ummm...they serve beer there. Just in case, you know, you ever needed to know that.

Great pics! I love the upside down sunglasses. Too cute!

  7. Happy Birthday Alexis! The photo of her eyeing the cake looks like she'll be diving in any minute -- love the tongue sticking out! Also? the picture with the glasses is priceless!

I second Tootsie in my disbelief that you've somehow made it this long with a visit to Chuck E. Just wait until she's in school and the birthday conga starts -- one right after the other!

  8. What a fun, fun day! I love the glasses. And if that cake is 0 effort I'm ashamed to say that it rivals the best efforts put forth by me.

I hope you've found Chuck to be quite an engaging large rat, because as a parent you've got many more meetings in store with him.

A child with no interest in cake? Relish it!

  10. You got some awesome pictures, and filled the day with a lot of fun! I just wrote about my first trip to the Cheese. Funny that she looks so interested in the cake in that picture, but she didn't want any!
You gave her that baby doll, didn't you? Sucker.

  11. Two classic photos - licking the licks while anticipating cake, and upside down sunglasses! And the cake is adorable!

We did Chuck E once. Yes, Just once.

    Happy Two!

  13. Looks like fun!

We actually may be making a trek to the burgh this weekend. We were thinking of going to the Children's Museum, but my sister said the Science Center is actually even better for little ones? Have you gone there?

And I WISH I could post pictures on the comments because I have a picture of my 2 1/2 yo wearing those EXACT same sunglasses upside down. She is sitting on my lap now and her eyes got so big when she saw Alexis' picture! Of course, she said "I can't find them!" because she lost those sunglasses for now.

Glad she had a great birthday! I love that little cake! So cute!!!!

Did you have the disgusting pizza at Chuck E. Cheese's?

And that cake was zero effort? Looks fancier than anything I could make with 100% effort. Don't make me hate you, I just found you for crying out loud.

At least Alexis looked adorable with her pigtails.
