Further Proof that My Kid is Awesome

If you have kids, you know this kind of thing just can't be staged. I was in the kitchen throwing together a complicated dinner consisting of frozen pizza when the Pens game finally came on the TV. Dude. The kid can name three Pens players. Actually, she can name four, but for some reason she didn't bother to mention "Cindy" (aka Sidney).

I'm keeping this kid.

  1. HA--that's great! She really and truly gets into it, doesn't she? The Penins...hehehe...and then, just The Pens. She even has volume, and it was fun hearing her actual voice. This right here is proof of your parenting awesome-ness :)!!! Now, if you can get her on video saying "Dank You" I'd really love it...

  4. I am shamed - SHAMED - by a 2 year old. I couldn't name Mario himself if I had to.

    And, Go Penins!!!

That is so incredibly cute!!! I love hearing toddler-talk. I miss it. :-( I really do. Mine are beyond all that "cute" talk, and are on to plain old little kid talk. Except my smallest one still refers to her hoo hoo as a BA-gina. I'm not correcting her.

  6. I LOVE IT. You are teaching that girl well, my dear :) (BTW, it's intermission... WHAT IS UP WITH THE GAME TONIGHT??!?)

Go penins. But, you still need to show her the Pirates once in a while.

  11. Dude, that is a BIG cat!

You do know there's a spurs game on tonight, right? That's what you should be showing her... and you call yourself a good mother?! Sheesh! ;0)

  12. So adorable! I love how she says Penins. You may have to translate the rest though. I think I may have caught "flower" which might be Fleury? So sad that the Penins lost tonight. We are all bumming in the burgh. Hopefully things will go better in game 5.

  13. Not a clue who any of those players are, but love the cat.

    Meow.

  14. Ok. Can I just say that your kid and the cat seem to be the same size? That's a big cat. And "this kid?" TOO CUTE!!

  15. Not a big fan of ball sports..... but a big fan of style... SHE LOOKS SO CUTE chanting away in her little RL outfit skirt.

    ;)

I was a gymnast. That is all.

  17. that is one ginormous cat, dude.

oh, and a way cute, totally brilliant, penin-loving kid!

  18. Ok, that is officially the cutest thing ever.

Apparently, we are not good enough Oiler fans in our house, as I am quite certain neither of the 2 littles ones could name a single player. But they do know their Liverpool players. Sadly, they are much more likely to call an oposing player by the c word than say a name. Not that they have! Just that I often hear the fella saying it, one day they may pick it up, god forbid.

AWESOME in capital letters. She is an adorable little fan and you have to love her waving the towel around too! She's knows how it's done!

The cuteness is almost making me want to say "Go Penins!"

Too bad there is someone there that could teach her "Go Red Wings!"

I totally didn't need proof that Alexis was awesome. I already knew she was.

    And cute too.

  22. Yeah better keep here more of a "Penins" fan than a Pirates fan. I hear they suck.
And good job training her well! We have taught Bean the Redskins fight song. Yes it was an acheiving moment.

  23. Bring it on cheerBaby!!!!! Go pens!!! Yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Back when I was a teenager, I could name almost every player. These days, Alexis(with 4) has me beat. She's "freakin' cute".

    ReplyDelete
  25. Looks like you may have a future cheerleader on your hands there! Too cute. Loved how that cat was like, "Meow, what about me!!"

    ADORABLE!

  26. Alexis knows just how to use that Terrible Towel - not only as a cheering device but also as a cuddly blankie.

    Good kid!

  27. Oh, she is just too damn funny! That is awesome! Go Pens!!!!!

  28. Cutest cheerleader EVER. You do realize that you are setting yourself up for MANY boys knocking on your door...she's adorable AND she knows her sports.

    In. Trou. Ble.

  29. I think the cat was getting in on the action. Are you putting subliminal tapes under her bed at night?

  30. My favorite part is the starved for attention cat who is willing to get within reach/beatdown distance of The Toddler in exchange for some semblance of affection.

    ReplyDelete
  31. oh yes- she is fabulous!

  32. As soon as I started playing the video my 3 year old son came running over and said "Pretty girl".

    ReplyDelete
  33. Dude, that is one big kitty!

And that is one adorable Pens fan! Hope y'all finish it tonight!

    ReplyDelete
  34. She should be their cheerleader--she's so cute ;)

So will you let her play hockey--girls do ya know!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow! Super fan!...and you can't force that stuff...she's a natural. I know it's not even on your list of favorite sports, but I would be super proud if Ethan someday was this big of a fan of his hometown baseball team! You must be proud! :>

  36. This truly gives us a glimpse into the Burgh household around game time . . .

The penins biggest little fan. What an awesome kid.

    ReplyDelete
  37. They need to use her in a commercial! I'd be scared to come between her and her Penins.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Although you didn't put hockey #1 on your list of fave sports, and you gave hater props to baseball (WTF?), you're redeemed by your sweet little Alexis. If she needs a babysitter in SD, call me.

Exactly what are you feeding that cat? It's the size of a freaking bulldog!

Seriously, you need to send that video in to the Penguins PR people. I swear you'll score free gear with it.

And you don't even have to split it with me, since I could never support the Pens, it would be the fastest way to divorceville in this house.

  40. I seriously love your girl! She is so adorable! I'm hoping that mine will be the same way for the Redskins, not that they'll win anything, but still.

Also, love that cat! Wow! Mine runs and hides at first sign of the toddler, especially if she's swinging anything around.
