Thank You, Mother Nature

It's days like today when I most remember that I am extremely fortunate to work just a few miles from our house and daycare. Despite needing to put in a ton of extra hours as of late, I've been able to pick Alexis up from daycare in time to still enjoy 30 minutes or so of time with just me and her. We haven't been able to do much fun for a while because the weather has sucky suck sucked, but today the weather was spectacular. I snagged her little behind from school and headed straight to the park.

57 degrees + swings + a slide = A very happy kid. And lots of good photos.

(More over at flickr.)

And now I'm going to work on blocking the memory of a certain short person having a heart attack when it came time for us to leave. I need to not remember the kicking, screaming, and all out fit.

Good things there are no photos of that.

  1. @Cheri--I'm a fan of fit photos, too, but I needed everything I had to wrestle that certain someone into the car. Hard to click the shutter button when you're pinning a kid down with both hands and a knee . . .

  2. We had a great afternoon outside too! It was lovely. I took some pictures, but none nearly as awesome as yours... no Mr. Canon for me quite yet! heh

  3. Dude! What did you do to Mr. Cannon to get him to behave so well for you?!

  4. We hit the park this afternoon as well . . . and thank goodness I took the dog along. Nothing like convincing the kid that the poor doggy is tired and needs to go home so she can get a drink. I know for sure that is what saved up from me dragging her butt upside-down to the car.

  5. What is it with these little people and change. Miss Peach kicks and screams every time I drag her from the house. Then she has the best time. Way to make it hard little ones:P
    Great pics of Alexis!

  8. You so should have taken the fit photos. I'm always up for exploiting our children for my amusement.

  9. So glad you were able to enjoy the awesome weather! And great shots, too! :)
Although a fit shot would have been pretty funny. And it is always good to remind them when they are older that every once in a while (or more often than that) they really could throw a fit. ;)

  10. You weren't kidding about lots of frame-worthy photos! Those are fantastic, and I love the other ones at Flickr, too.

This weather has been fantastic. Hopefully you can get outside today, too :)

  11. I take the fit photos, too and she gets so mad. Sometimes we'll be looking at photos later and I will pull one of those up and she HATES it.

  12. The look on her face on that last oen is absolutely priceless. But I really can't blame her for having total meltdown. The weather was awesome.

  13. Great slide pic!!! I'm hoping to enjoy some of that weather here too, before it starts raining buckets, of course!

  14. Great pics! My poor husband is going to ban your site because I've started complaining about needing a Mr. Canon myself...

I got to take them all outside as well and assumed they would sleep magnificently. Wrong. Oh, well!

  15. @The Mommy-Everyone deserves a Mr. Canon of their own. Seriously.

  16. Your photos are so great! I probably would have cried leaving the playground too if it was in the mid 50's.

I know, I'm loving this weather too! We went to the park yesterday, but it quickly got overrun by teenaged boys playing tag. Not that I mind teenagers... but they kept running back and forth on the playground, jumping around on the equipment, and nearly knocking down the little kids!

  19. @Anonymous--Thanks for the link! I have been not-so-secretly working on my own version of the grown-up Dora. BWAHAHAHAHA!

I really shouldn't find this stuff as fun as I do.
