Burgh Perfect Staycation Step #1: Quack!

At the very moment that it became clear that I wasn't going to have the privilege of quacking my quacker like a quacking idiot, I thought to myself, "Other in-laws are coming soon. MUST. RESCHEDULE." I began stalking The Weather Channel, determinedly looking for a day that was sure to guarantee sunny skies and a total and complete lack of Just Ducky cancellations. That day of surety came, and with it brought reservations that were sure to guarantee that my butt would be sitting in one of those bizarre vehicles and having a great time quacking around.

I quacked.

And I loved it.

I have approximately 230 photos from the trip. (No, really, I have over 230 photos from the Just Ducky tour. Hello, my name is Dork and I am a Japanese tourist.) Amongst those 230+ photos are a few of the Toddler, but none of them quite capture just how much she enjoyed the tour. I love that my kid is a Japanese tourist, too.

I think our driveway would be infinitely cooler if it had one of those bad boys in it. Somebody needs to make that happen, and pronto.

Quack!

  12. I heard that the bus from Dumb and Dumber sold on ebay for over 20K...you could totally get a quacker ducky bus in your driveway for less than that!

We booked two duck boats between our wedding and reception (do to bad planning there was 3-4hr between them) to haul the wedding party and out of town guests around for awhile. It was quite alot of fun quacking in a wedding dress!

  22. We wanted to do one of those in Boston, but were too impatient to wait. We went to a brewery instead. In our defense though, we had already walked part of the Freedom Trailso we were totally without any cultural input for the day.

  23. Oh, yeah...I drive one of those... (she said, sounding uber cool.) lol

  24. I love the picture of her sleeping. That's too sweet!

  25. I just saw that we've got those tours in DC! I'm totally doing it with our next visitors (or maybe we'll go anyway).

  26. I'm loving the toddler mullet in these photos. That mullet is the cutest one I've ever seen.

As for the duck tour? I have seen them but haven't ever done them ... after this rousing endorsement, though, I may have to contemplate one ...

  29. I love taking those duck tours. I think it is so cool when you just start driving into the water. Oh yeah, the girls like it too.

  30. I'm pretty sure that I need to "do" Pittsburgh someday. Apparently I'm lame and loser-ish and haven't even done the tired dinner cruises.

  31. Gavin saw this earlier in my reader and promptly pointed out the "cow milk-juice" that Alexis is holding. Not Alexis, mind you, but the dang milk that he's obsessed with.

Very cool pics. I can see why you like the one with Alexis and her grandma so much. :)

and did Caramama say we now have some sort of Duck tour in DC? Hot damn! Now I have something to do the next time someone is in town instead of subjecting them to countless viewings "Bee Movie".
