Gratuitous Baby Pics

Baby elephant pics, that is. There's yet another baby elephant at the Pittsburgh Zoo. There's really nothing that I could say to top the cute, so I'm not even trying.

Name: Zuri
Born: July 25
Weight: 248 pounds
The Mom, Moja, was pregnant 673 days.
Her Father is, of course, Jackson.

(I hereby promise to never, ever complain that Alexis was 9 pounds 12 ounces when she was born a few days past her due date. 248 pounds. 673 days. Being an elephant? SUCKS.)

  1. Elephant mommies are no dainty ballerinas either.

  5. Thank you for the adorable baby elephant pics. They brightened my morning.

And I was 12 days late...those poor elephants. The gestation time is just crazy!

Elephant momma's must be a whole lot tougher than human momma's . . . or maybe they just don't complain as much - otherwise you would think Jackson would get the hint and find another way to fulfill his need.

Baby elephants are soo darlin'! We're going to take Monkey to the zoo for the first time in Sept for his 2nd birthday and I don't know which member of the family is more excited about it.

    Happy sunday!

  13. Apparently baby elephants are comparable enough to baby humans because this made me leak!

9 lbs 12 ozs? Rookie. My "litle" girl was 10 lbs 8ozs, the natural way. That would also be why she is now and forever more an only child.

  15. That is so STINKIN cute. It's *almost* worth being pregnant that long for. If I were an elephant, I mean.

  16. Holy crap. I am so glad I am not an elephant.

  17. I have no idea how many days I was pregnant, too many, total more than an elephant. But I know how many days in the future I will not be pregnant, ALL OF THEM!

We went to the zoo last week and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the baby elephants. We stared for like, 20 minutes. I was in shock of the fact that Jackson was such a PIMP! Two baby mama's! Holy cow!
