Not Whining. Nope.

I have taken a vow to stop whining about the weather. I can't control it, so I need to just go with it. Sure, when it's between Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day, I'm likely to be wishing for snow, but that's not really whining.

Nope.

Not whining.

And now, snow in April? Why would I whine about that?

Just because it was 70 degrees yesterday and we spent hours riding bikes all around Pittsburgh doesn't mean I shouldn't expect it to get below freezing tonight. It doesn't mean I shouldn't be fine with potentially waking up to an inch of snow. It doesn't mean I shouldn't be prepared for a total of two inches of fluffy white stuff in the next 24 hours.

Except, I'm not prepared. I packed away my winter coat a LONG time ago. I am nothing, if not stubborn. And unprepared.

Nope, not whining.

And if I did kinda-sorta-maybe mention to Alexis that it was a little cold outside? It would have kinda-sorta-maybe done no good.

She told me to put on a coat.

  1. Um. Yeah. We have two inches already.

My step-sister just jetted off to Miami today. I'm plotting evil voodoo and hoping she gets rained on the whole time we get snowed on.

  4. There is NO SNOW out there. I refuse to accept it. The grass is green and the sun is shining. It is not - I repeat NOT SNOWING. It is April. Such things are simply not done.

  6. DUDE! It snowed HERE IN TEXAS last Saturday! And that was in April! And it froze last night! WTF?

Also? You must email me what Mr. husband's shirt says... Because if it's as funny as I expect it to be, I need to buy one for my grumpy ubby.

  7. clearly, that should say hubby, not ubby.

Unless ubby means Tom Brady or Paul Walker in some other language. Then I TOTALLY meant ubby.

  8. I'll whine for you. And, I was talking about you yesterday. I told Jim, (upon learning it was to snow today), "BBM will be out there without a coat!"

    What does that shirt say?

  9. His shirt says, "I'm Grumpy because you're Dopey." Alexis saw it at Disney World, asked me what it said, giggled when I told her, and then insisted that we buy it for him. I don't think she really understands the message, but it still cracks me up that she thought it was a fitting shirt for him.

  10. I have that same shirt - my kids also thought that it was perfect for me. probably because I have nearly every Grumpy T-shirt from the past eight years. Last year I finally bought a non-Grumpy (or Goofy) shirt, it was a Donald shirt stating that I failed my anger management class.

I wonder if there is a message there.

Oh, and I am also whining about the weather - the snow can go away, anyday now.

  11. although we haven't had any snow that stuck, it's fallen and we've had hail, frigid temperatures and vicious winds. When it froze out our re commitment ceremony I was done. Through. Ticked.
Nope, I'm not whining either. I am merely driving myself crazy wondering how one goes about getting even with the weather...

  12. Smart kid. Cute too.

I was gone last Saturday, when we were dumped with eight inches of snow. Driving home on Sunday. I was surprised to find nearly NONE. Gone. Insane.

  13. The freeze killed my almost fruitful tomato plants last night. In south Texas. DEEP south Texas. We have no snow, but it's so wrong to use the heat here in April. Our AC should be running non stop by now.

  14. The girl is right. I don't like it but she is still right.

I wish we were only expecting a 2 inches. They say we could get a foot. If we do, I will whine. Loudly. You may hear me in Pittsburgh.

  15. You have probably been sitting there...cold...waiting for me to say..."Go Put A Coat On!"

  16. Yeah, a week or so ago I wrote about feeling spring in the air, blah, blah, blah. It's snowing outside right now and I'm pretty sure it's my fault.

  17. I have found over the years that it snows in April a lot more often than one would expect. (Not more as in how many times that month, but more years that it snows at least once in April than you would think.) It's why I'm not truly happy about the weather until May. I can never count on April.

That picture is awesome! So cute! And I love the shirt.

  18. We are having a little cold snap here too. It seems like it always happens at Easter. It won't be long and I'll be whining about how steaming hot it is here so feel free to whine a little longer about the cold.

  19. No worries, I've whined enough for everyone.

    More snow tomorrow maybe.

And I *still* have a sunburn from a few days ago on the back of my neck.
