One More Confession

I admit it, I'm still obsessed with the stupid reborn dolls. So obsessed, in fact, that I've been following some of them on eBay to see what happens. My personal favorite was just relisted for $199 and still has no bids. I would be a liar liar pants on fire if I didn't admit that I want to buy the stupid thing. I'm willing to pay $20. I suppose it's a good thing that it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

In other news of relisted dolls, this guy is back. He sold the last time for $787 dollars (pick your jaw up off the floor, you look cuter with it tucked neatly above your neck), but apparently his "first Mommy" (I so didn't come up with those words--the seller did) didn't make her payment on time, so he's back up for sale. Bidding is at $400+ dollars right now. C'mon, you know you would love this face for Mother's Day:

  2. I said to myself there is no way I am clicking that link, nope it's going to be one of those scary dolls. You knew I wouldn't click it so you put the picture on instead. Thanks....I'm sleeping with you tonight.

  3. that is one scary baby. I can't imagine WHY the first mommy stopped payment...because she came to her senses???

  4. I think I'm gonna cry. I will have nightmares again for a couple of weeks. lol!

  5. Okay, the doll is freaky. Which is why I, too, did not click on the link. But you got us anyway! Now, though, I'm thinking...if the doll is freaky, then what is the doll's "first Mommy." More than scary, I'm thinkin'. Why? Just...why...

  6. What the hell - is it a snake child? Why is he licking the air? That is not normal newborn behavior.

  7. It's no wonder his mommy backed out! I have no respect for moms who leave their kids in dumpsters, but I'm here to tell you that if that THING was given to me I'd totally tie it in a bag and toss it overboard.

  8. You should track down the buyers and conduct an interview. THAT would be awesome.

  9. Oh my! What it from a movie set? Does it's head spin?

You have GOT to stop with the scary posts! Seriously, gonna have dreams about those horrifying dolls coming to eat my soul (a la Chuckie).

(And WHO WOULD PAY THAT MUCH!? Someone needs a new hobby, clearly.)

  14. Is that Chucky's love child?

    Officially scared.

P.S. We'll catch you on the summer trip. We were coming through at around 6am on Saturday and I did you a favor and didn't call to see if you wanted breakfast. The kids said I should have, but I informed them that it was just plain rude to do that to normal people (implying that we are not).

  21. hahaha I am laughing at Just Jamie's comment!
Seriously though, HOLY CRAP this little boy is SCARY real looking!
I didn't click on your links because the dolls in the past that you have posted have been too traumatizing!

  22. OK, if you are joining the HELL club, you CAN'T bring the creepy dolls. first mommy has been banned to the back of the fire.
i speak for all the cool kids down in the pits

  23. You have GOT to be freakin' kidding me! $787 for that? Why not put that money to good use for, I don't know, AN ACTUAL CHILD! Sheesh!

    AAAAHHHH!

I am going to stop coming here if you are going to keep posting dolls. They are scaring the crap out of me. I want a personalized email when you post a picture of one of these dolls so I can avoid your site for a few days.

    I'm not kidding. (Mostly.)

Your confessions were very funny though.

Ever read/see "Children of Men"? I mean, I'm seriously terrified of dolls as it is, and now I have the themes from that book/movie to contend with, too.

At least Clive Owen is hot.

  25. I'm just glad it was a "first mommy" and not a "first daddy" - that would have been a jillion times creepier!

She probably tried to ask her husband for $787 so she could buy the baby doll and he had her locked up in an asylum.

    ReplyDelete
  26. ok... although, from an artistic standpoint, the detail is quite extraordinary--- um, creepy...

    ReplyDelete
  27. That is just horrifying. My MIL sent my daughter a simular doll (seriously) and my girls screamed. It went straight to the trash.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ummmm....could the seller BE any creepier (did you notice my Chandler Bing channeling there?)? First Mommy...that's just wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Please no more creepy babies!!!!!! That one is VERY freaky since it is sticking its toungue out!

wtf is wrong with these people buying/selling these dolls? I mean seriously these things are beyond creepy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wouldn't it be funny though, to get one and see how long it takes for strangers to realize you aren't carrying around a real baby? I want one now.

  43. *L* I had this post up when Big Daddy walked in, not thinking anything of it & he gasped & whisper "oh that in NOT a pretty baby! Oh my gosh! It looks dead..." He thought ti was really. Like a dope, I told him it was a doll right off. I could have made up something really good.
